CURRENCY EXCHANGE

The currency used in Turkey is called " Lira ".
Even though the goverment, in its economic plans for the 2001, has declared that the inflation rate is going to be brought down to 25%,
this seems to be a very ambitious target.
In the last 10 years the average percentage of the inflation in Turkey
has been about 70 - 80 %.

In this regard, travelers are recommended to check the exchange rates daily when they wish to buy the Turkish currency.
